Sy Stern, Founder
After graduating with honors and earning a dual degree in sociology and film from Mount Saint Mary's University, Sy Stern embarked on a dynamic career as a video editor and producer. Her versatile contributions encompassed a wide array of projects, from commercials and documentaries to acting roles in notable productions like CSI NY. In 2017, Sy seized a career-defining opportunity in the emerging field of blockchain technology, serving as a content creator delving into fintech, cryptocurrency, and traditional banking for Blockchains LLC. She played a key role in designing and assembling a film studio for the company while contributing to public education and misinformation mitigation.
Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sy transitioned to a position at a nonprofit hospital. Collaborating with the marketing department, she spearheaded the creation of a studio and produced COVID-19 information content. Sy's efforts also contributed to the hospital's attainment of Pathway Designation. This invaluable experience laid the groundwork for The Newborn Project, an initiative founded by Sy in central Texas. Inspired by personal struggles during a challenging pregnancy and postpartum period, The Newborn Project is dedicated to providing essential healthcare services addressing gaps in care for women and newborns. Sy's vision extends beyond Austin, Texas, with plans to offer nationwide support and advocate for improved national maternity and paternity leave policies.
